No, Fuck Kos.

I’ve always found Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos, to be one of the most ignorant, arrogant political bloggers. As a former Republican, he crowed about Reagan, wrote an editorial voicing his fears of gays in the military, and voted for Bush Sr. That Kos came up with a brilliant web site is not in argument. It’s his glib, proto-libertarian, faux-progressive hypocrisy. He lets Chevron advertise on his site when they’re trying to defeat eco-accountability bills in California, and his constant demeaning of genuine progressive Dennis Kucinich reveals Kos’s inner conservative. His latest post, for some reason another tired attack on Ralph Nader for daring enter politics, was met with a lot of backlash. Rightly so, for in the Wonderful Land of Kos, only a former Republican once afeared of gays can trumpet somebody like Ralph Nader as irrelevant and worthy of endless petty attacks in the new age of Obama. And here’s Kos’s thoughtful, sociopathic response to his “big tent community”:

“Fuck Ralph Nader, and fuck his supporters. If the past eight years hasn’t smacked any sense into their addled brains, then nothing will. This site caters to the reality-based community. No one else need apply.”

This is the guy who claims to be building a base of Democrats. He’s more a savvy opportunist, treating politics on his site like a sports event, replete with in your face insults and bully syncophants who thrive on sussing out perceived “trolls.” Fortunately, the smug little boy-king is getting schooled by some Kossacks:

You’re pretty normal, darling Kos, but this post about Nader strikes me with its weird, ugly rage.  It took a few minutes, but then I remembered where I heard you use this tone before: in your butter-wouldn’t-melt post about Dennis Kucinich.

To me, and I say it with love, this is the vitriol of the former schoolyard wuss who’s figured out how to be the bully himself.

At the time of the Kucinich post, I was sort of gobsmacked. I’m all, “WTF is up Kos’s boxers?”

Then I realized (and again, I say this with love), you might be trying to distance yourself, a sensitive, small-statured new age guy, from other sensitive, small-statured new age guys.

Now here you go (again!) with Nader.  Dude, you have issues. May I suggest that you can’t vanquish your high school/short/Reagan-geek self-loathing by killing the liberal ‘pansies’ among us, Oedipus-like.  Much LESS the two most honorable denizens of The Progressive Kingdom, Nader and the Kooch.

I reiterate a simple challenge I had previously posted:

Name one item in Dennis Kucinich’s or Ralph Nader’s platform you vehemently disagree with. One single thing by either guy.  Be honest.

I seriously challenge you.
